The Best Haircut Trends From Paris Fashion Week Street Style

Where do you go for hair inspiration?

Pinterest or Instagram are among the most obvious places to garner ideas, but every beauty editor knows that the coolest cuts are seen on the guests that descend on fashion week.

In London recently, we spotted all manner of innovative haircut trends — think invisible layers, close-crops and medium-length cuts that are anything but boring.

This week, it’s Paris’ time in the spotlight. From blunt bobs to concave layers, here are the very best haircut trends straight from Paris Fashion Week AW24 street style.

The blunt bob

Karen Wazen is proof that the bob haircut is going nowhere. The blunt ends, deep side parting and coquettish hair bow nail three major trends in one. Photographed by Edward Berthelot/Getty Images

The pixie cut

We’ve seen the “mixie” (a mix between the pixie and a shaggy mullet) and the “bixie”, which occupies a cozy space between the pixie and a bob haircut, but the OG pixie cut is having its moment in the spotlight again. Take inspiration from Dara and ask your stylist for sharp, razored sides. Photographed by Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images

The curly wolf cut

As seen on Xiayan Guo, the wolf cut — a more modern take on the shag and the mullet — works beautifully on wavy and curly hair. Photographed by Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images

The lob

If you’re not swayed the various short bobs that are trending currently, try the lob — or the long bob. This street styler’s straight-across bangs and chunky Alice band gives the blunt cut a cutesy feel. Photographed by Christian Vierig/Getty Images

The closely cropped afro

Tyler Moore, expert stylist at Live True London, recently predicted that closely cropped afro hair would reign supreme. Tyler recommends a length of at least one inch. “This will maintain versatility and allow for some styling if desired,” he told R29.Photographed by Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images

Long layers

Layers throughout the mid-lengths and ends give long hair a little movement and texture. Look to this Paris Fashion Week guest and consider wispy curtain bangs to complement the cut. Investing in a hot brush like Shark SmoothStyle Hot Brush & Smoothing Comb, $99.99, will take the chore out of styling. Photographed by Christian Vierig/Getty Images

Protective styles

From Bantu knots to braids, protective styles have commanded street style and various runways in New York, London and Paris.Photographed by Raimonda Kulikauskiene/Getty Images

Textured layers

A handful of layers is the easiest way to give curly hair more shape and dimension. We love this shoulder length cut on model Leila Depina, especially the heavy bangs. Photographed by Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images

The kitty cut

Introducing the “kitty” cut: softer iteration of the trending wolf cut, complete with long layers and a parted fringe. We especially like the “cowgirl” copper color on model Justine Soranzo. Photographed by Christian Vierig/Getty Images

The micro bob

This short, sharp bob is set to be a huge trend for 2024 according to Neil Moodie, founder of the Neil Moodie Studio. “It’s essentially the shortest bob before entering ‘short hair territory’, resting delicately between the jawline and cheekbone and grazing the bottom of the ear,” Moodie told R29. The “butterfly” lob

Lena Mahfouf’s “butterfly” lob haircut is infiltrating top salons in London and now Paris. The style hovers just above the shoulders and boasts a handful of layers throughout the mid-lengths and ends for a swishy effect. A blowdry brush is your best bet when it comes to styling. Concave layers

Inwardly curving layers, otherwise known as concave layers, give hair shape and volume. They work on all hair types, too — especially curly and wavy lengths. Photographed by Christian Vierig/Getty Images
